NSPCC Partnership
We’re pleased to have teamed up with the NSPCC, as they celebrate their 123rd anniversary.
The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children was founded in 1884. Its aim then was to protect children from cruelty, support vulnerable families, campaign for changes to the law and raise awareness about abuse.
Today, the NSPCC looks very different, but its purpose remains the same: to end cruelty to children.
The NSPCC has 177 teams and projects in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands. The Derbyshire Child Protection Team is located approximately 10 miles from the centre in Ripley.
NSPCC Child Protection Teams aim to break the cycle of abuse. Referrals come from social services, education and health departments and direct from carers and young people.
Children from 4-17 years are seen, both those accommodated by local authorities and those living at home. A range of approaches are offered, including talking-based counselling, drama, art and play therapies.
We have now achieved our £9,000 target for the NSPCC. We do still have more fundraising events happening over the next month to raise even more money, so be sure to check out our community pages regularly to see where you can get involved.
We still have a few of our reusable shopping bags left. Go to Concierge on Level 1 opposite Lush to get one.
