Especially for Derby...Donovan fever to hit Westfield

Jason Donovan helps celebrate first birthday.
Westfield Derby have announced news that eighties pop sensation and former Neighbours star Jason Donovan will be presiding over the shopping centre’s first birthday celebrations next month.
Jason will be the star of three days of birthday festivities, with his live performance featuring his greatest hits (and some new ones) at 6pm on 10 October.
The event marks a major milestone for Westfield Derby, which opened on the 9 October last year and has since gone on to win a trophy-case full of awards including two Purple Apple marketing awards and a RICS award for regeneration.
Janine Bone, Westfield Centre Manager, said: “It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost twelve months since the new look centre first opened for business – the time really has flown by. Of course, a great deal has happened during the past year, not least the opening of Derby’s (and the UK’s first) Showcase Cinema de Lux in May.
“We’re thrilled to bits that Jason has agreed to be the guest of honour on our birthday weekend. We wanted someone with real star status but who’s also known for being just a really nice chap – Jason certainly fits the bill. And ladies: he’s also agreed to a handful of exclusive meet and greets with fans – more news on how you can become one of the lucky few will be coming very soon.”
There’ll also be chances to see the hottest new season trends for autumn in fabulous live Catwalk Shows in Darwin Square throughout the day on 9 and 11 October.
