Local girl set for big modelling chance

30/05/08

Local and nation wide modelling talent battle to win 'The Face of Intimas' title.

West Hallam girl Tasha Placket will take part in the final of ‘The Face of Intimas’, the culmination of a nationwide search to find the country’s next top underwear model.

Tasha, 19, is one of 8 finalists to appear in a live catwalk show at 2pm on Saturday 31 May in Copecastle Square, Westfield Derby and said: “I think I’m excited more than anyone else in the competition and I’ve just been counting down the days until the show.

“My friend Karen entered me into the competition without me knowing so I was a little surprised when I heard I’d got through at first. But I still love her as it’s given me this great opportunity, not just for my career but for me as a person.

“I’ve been mega-driven towards this competition. I’ve been exercising for an hour-and-a-half every day to get my body into tip top shape and I’ve been getting so much support from people I know. Everyone from my Mum to the person who does my spray-tan think that I’ve got a great chance to win and start off my modelling career.”

Tasha will be supported by family and friends in the show including her boyfriend who is bringing along support from his fellow players at Melbourne Rugby Club to cheer her along.

The overall winner will get an exclusive modelling contract to appear in Intimas catwalk shows when they launch new collections, as well as year’s worth of lingerie from the store.
