FASHION POLICE ROUND UP ASHBY DE LA ZOUCH’S BEST DRESSED

03/04/08

The Fashion Police were out in force finding the best dressers in town.

The boys and girls in blue were out in force this weekend on a mission to find Ashby de La Zouch’s best-dressed residents.

Armed with whistles and clipboards, a patrol of uniformed Westfield Derby ‘fashion police’ took to the streets in search of the region’s most dedicated followers of fashion.

The patrol, which was in town to promote Westfield Derby’s new spring /summer fashion lines, went down a storm with shoppers.

Dean Wagstaff from Ashby was one of those who made the fashion police’s ‘model citizen’ list: “I do put some effort into my look though it’s quite understated so it’s nice to be stopped and congratulated on my fashion sense!”

Ashby de La Zouch was the second stop on the fashion police’s whistle stop tour of the East Midlands, which saw them also take in Loughborough and Burton.

Janine Bone, Westfield Derby Centre Manager, said: “We thought the fashion police would be a fun way to reward those who always dress to impress – and we were right!

“As a treat, our patrol gave out leaflets for a free copy of women’s fashion magazine Red with every fashion purchase of £40 or more and a day’s free parking at the centre.”
